Matrix Energetics was developed by Richard Barlett, D.C. about 10 years ago. He has taught it to thousands of people over the last few years. His seminars draw up to 800 people because of its effectiveness and safety. Dr. Ou was initially skeptical about how well it would work but was interested since it was been supported by leaders that he respected in alternative medicine. Matrix Energetics has now largely replaced the role that acupuncture had in his practice.
What happens during a session?
A session lasts 10-20 minutes. The patient sits or stands comfortably while Dr. Ou gently touches various points around the body. Many patients report feeling warm or very relaxed. Every few minutes, Dr. Ou will ask how much the patient's symptoms are improving to monitor progress. The treatment is so gentle that many patients wonder if Dr. Ou did anything at all until they notice their symptoms are improved.
How does it work?
There are many ways to describe how it works. One way is based on research on how acupuncture works. In acupuncture, nerves carry signals to the brain which then increases blood flow to the parts of the brain that control healing. The brain then sends commands to the body to address the problem areas by secreting various hormones that regulate healing and readjusting blood flow.
Another way to explain it is through quantum physics. This is how Dr. Barlett explains it in his seminars. According to physics, all matter is made of atoms which are made of subatomic particles which are in turn made of energy and information. Research has shown that consciousness can influence subatomic particles and energy. This can be illustrated by wave-particle duality and probability clouds of electron distribution in atoms. In Matrix Energetics, a practitioner's brain waves goes into a specific state which allows the practitioner to access the information in the zero point field, which Deepak Chopra, M.D.,has called the "sea of infinite possibilities." A person with a health problem has certain information in the body which maintains the unhealthy state. A Matrix Energetics practitioner creates the possibility for the information to change which in turn causes the health problem to change.
What can it be used for?
Matrix Enegetics can be used for a wide range of disorders. In his practice, he most commonly uses for pain. This includes, but is not limited to:
• back pain (including herniated discs, degenerated discs, and
arthritis)
• sciatica
• neck pain
• shoulder pain
• tennis elbow
• headaches (migraine and tension)
• arthritis in any joint such as the knees and hips
• TMJ
• plantar fasciitis
How effective is it?
up to 90% of people will respond to it.
How many treatments are needed?
It takes several treatments for permanent or long term relief. An average of 5-10 treatments are needed and they need to be given 1-2 times per week. More chronic and severe problems may require more treatments.
Do you need to return for maintenance treatments?
No. After the condition is adequately treated, no further treatments are needed unless the condition returns. Many people never need to come back.
How soon can improvement be seen?
Most people will notice a definite improvement within the first 2 treatments. If no improvement is noted within the few few treatments, other treatments should be considered.
Do you have to believe in Matrix Energetics for it to work?
No. Matrix Energetics is successfully used in babies and animals. When Dr. Ou started to test it, he didn't tell his patients what he was doing yet they noticed great changes in their symptons.
Examples of results in Dr. Ou's practice
Several people have seen Dr. Ou for acute migraines and expected to receive pain shots. After working on them, they did not need any medication at all.
Several people have seen Dr. Ou after having pulling or injuring their backs. In most cases, Dr. Ou was able to reduce their pain by at least 50%. They were able to walk straighter and easier.
One patient with back pain and sciatica needed an electric cart to go shopping. After working with Dr. Ou, she was able to use a regular shopping cart with minimal pain.
One woman came in with shortness of breath from a flareup of emphysema. In the past, she would need antibiotics and high doses of steroids. After Matrix Energetics, her breathing returned to normal and she did not need any medication.
