In 1999, Dr. Ou joined Internal Medicine Associates in Conyers, located in East Metro Atlanta, and asked a simple question that very few physicans ask: Is there a way to effectively and reliably tap into the body's natural ability to heal? This simple question was motivated by 2 reasons. He wanted to know: 1) if there was a way to come off of medications for his own chronic medical problems and 2) if there was something else he could do to help his family, friends, and patients with conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, chronic pain and other conditions in which many people continue to suffer from despite the best efforts of conventional medicine. Unfortunately, the philosophy of conventional medicine is that little can be done to help the body heal itself so all that can be done is to suppress symptoms with pharmaceutical drugs.
Over the years, he has studied and tested countless so-called alternative and natural therapies, but has been disappointed because the vast majority of them produced inconsistent and limited results in his practice, especially with more serious illnesses. He has read many books, articles, scientific studies, and newsletters including those by "famous" doctors, but did not get good results that the authors claimed to have. He has learned through experience that just because a treatment is "natural" or "holistic" does not mean that effective healing can take place. Part of the problem is that most herbs, vitamins, and other supplements share the same flawed philosophy as conventional medicine of temporarily suppressing symptoms without addressing why the body was unable to heal itself to begin with. This is why many people who exercise, "eat healthy", and take supplements can still have many health problems.
As part of his research, Dr. Ou has been fortunate in meeting some of the most innovative and extraordinary healers in the world who truly have high success rates with those who have failed both conventional and alternative therapies. Their "secret" is understanding the major factors which prevent the body from healing and how to correct those factors.
One major factor is a buildup of toxins from food and the environment. This buildup keeps oxygen and nutrients from reaching the cells that need them to heal. Most of alternative and integrative medicine use supplements to force nutrients into cells and this can sometimes result in short term improvement. However Dr. Ou is interested in permanant improvements in health, and the great healers know that one of the keys to long term healing is to remove toxins so that nutients can naturally and easily flow into cells.
Dr. Ou has created a Natural Healing Program by utilizing the most effective therapies that he has found so far. They include Nutri-Energetics Systems® by Peter Fraser and Harry Massey, liver flushing by Andreas Moritz, FCT® (Field Control Therapy) created by Savely Yurkovsky, M.D., and Matrix Energetics by Dr. Richard Bartlett. Dr. Ou also uses the M-Power Program™ created by Dr. David Wheeler . Through these innovative therapies, Dr. Ou has successfully helped numerous people who were not satisfied with or not helped by medications, surgery, physical therapy, herbs, supplements, chiropractic, acupuncture, special diets, etc. Most of his patients seek him as a last resort for “incurable” diseases such as fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, fatigue, migraine headaches, chronic pain, and a variety of “mysterious” illnesses. Over 90% of his patients, many of whom are physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals, have had significant improvements in their health, quality of life, sense of well being, and decrease in their medications.
Dr. Ou is trained in cutting edge techniques of energy medicine. In May 2008, he became one of the first medical doctors to be certified in Matrix Energetics by Dr. Bartlett. Dr. Ou has treated thousands of patients with acupuncture, but has recently discovered that Matrix Energetics is more effective and requires no needles. In 2007, he became the first medical doctor in the world and the first and only healthcare practitioner in North America to be certified in Field Control Therapy by Dr. Yurkovsky. In late 2008, he became one of the first medical doctors in the U.S. to use Nutri-Energetics Systems.
Because of his unique experience, he has spoken to medical students at the Emory University School of Medicine and to international leaders in alternative medicine in New York, London, and Atlanta.
From a conventional standpoint, Dr. Ou graduated Cum Laude in Physics with Distinction in All Subjects from Cornell University, received his M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed his residency in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine.
