Dr. Ou graduated Cum Laude and with Distinction in All Subjects with a degree in physics from Cornell University where he was also honored with a membership in Phi Beta Kappa. During college, he learned acupuncture at the International Acupuncture Training Centre in Beijing, China and the Florida Acupuncture Tutorial Program. On a four-year scholarship, he received his M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his training in internal medicine at Emory University and joined Internal Medicine Associates of Rockdale in 1999. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he is also on staff at Rockdale Hospital where he serves on the Bylaws, Formulary Streamlining, and Information Systems Steering committees. After his residency, he underwent further training in acupuncture through the Academy of Pain Research in association with Stanford University and received his Georgia acupuncture license in November 2000.
He had dedicated his career to finding ways to help people, including himself and his family, naturally heal from illnesses, including serious ones. He has found that conventional medicine focuses on suppressing symptoms. When he started to study and try alternative medicine, he was disappointed to find that most alternative and natural therapies also focus on controlling symptoms instead of helping the body to heal. As part of his research, he has been fortunate in meeting some of the most innovative and extraordinary healers in the world who have high success rates with those who have failed both conventional and alternative therapies. Their "secret" is understanding what prevents the body from healing and how to safely remove those factors.
From his experiences , he has created a Natural Healing Program which includes liver flushing by Andreas Moritz, FCT® (Field Control Therapy) created by Savely Yurkovsky, M.D., and Matrix Energetics by Dr. Richard Bartlett. Dr. Ou also uses the M-Power Program™ created by Dr. David Wheeler.
In 2008, he became one of the first medical doctors in the world to be certified by Dr. Richard Bartlett in Matrix Energetics. He is only one of 4 certified practitioners in Georgia. He is the first medical doctor in the world and the first and only healthcare practitioner in North America to be certified in Field Control Therapy by Dr. Yurkovsky. He is the instructor for the North American branch of the international FCT® Graduate Program. To help the growth of FCT®, he created and moderates www.fctforums.com, an international online support group for FCT® patients and practitioners. He has also had the honor of sharing his experiences at the Emory University School of Medicine and international leaders in alternative medicine in New York, London, and in his office near Atlanta.
Dr. Ou is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. He previously served as the webmaster for the National Association of Asian American Professionals and as the vice president of the Chinese American Lions Club of Atlanta.
